Job Description

RMN Electrical Engineer role with Rosenbauer Minnesota LLC is onsite in Wyoming, MN, offering USD 75,000 to 95,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure electrical sub‑system specifications and regulatory conformance for existing Rosenbauer fire trucks, maintaining performance requirements.
  • Initiate integrated hardware and software solutions to meet sub‑system performance specs while increasing quality, performance, or reducing costs.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, Sales, and Marketing to develop cross‑functional products.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor lab and field performance tests; analyze data to track product and component performance.
  • Build and maintain product application expertise.
  • Serve as a technical resource to Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, Sales, and Marketing to address inquiries and resolve problems.
  • Maintain supplier and purchasing relationships to evaluate new products and ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Prepare and update product and quality specifications.
  • Review Quality Audit records and analyze customer returns to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain regulatory agency approvals.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects and objectives, handling unscheduled tasks as needed.
  • Prepare and present project status reports.
  • Perform other duties as required by management to meet company needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience working with automotive electronics required.
  • 3+ years working with automotive electronics preferred.
  • Product data management utilizing CAD and PDM systems preferred.
  • Experience with vehicle electric DC and AC generation and supply preferred.
  • Experience with J1939 or other CAN bus protocols and wiring preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of design for manufacturing and design for service preferred.
  • Knowledge of firefighting processes and equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply relevant scientific and technical documentation and standards.
  • Active participation in engineering discussions with listening, questioning, and solution suggestions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.
  • Ability to perform advanced electrical calculations including logarithms, calculus, statistics, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Suite required.
  • Experience with Visio and schematic drawing software required.
  • High commitment to engineering quality and first‑pass accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop processes that ensure high engineering quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, diverse projects with analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, problem solving, and decision making, often with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to evaluate designs to meet customer requirements.
  • Full vehicle understanding to ensure seamless integration of the sub‑system within the overall system to meet top‑down requirements.
  • Initiative to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

  • Valid driver's license; ability to drive company vehicle as needed.
  • Must have own vehicle.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally to support project goals or production needs.
  • Local travel for meetings, trade shows, or related events.
  • Overnight travel as needed for industry trade shows or site visits.
  • Possible extended travel as required.
