Senior Data Engineer - AI and Analytics
Job Description
CVS Health seeks a Senior Data Engineer in Buffalo Grove, IL (onsite) to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support multiple lines of business, leveraging cloud architectures, real-time streaming, and cross-functional collaboration to generate actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines to assemble large, intricate datasets aligned with CVS business needs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to create tools that deliver actionable insights and integrate them with consumer touchpoints.
- Tackle complex data challenges and use modern technologies to securely store, process, transform, and enrich terabyte to petabyte scale healthcare data.
- Operate in an agile environment with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data solutions that address business problems.
- Resolve issues related to large-scale, structured and unstructured data.
Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on SQL experience
- 3 to 5+ years of NoSQL experience
- 3 to 5+ years of Python experience
- 3+ years of experience with data warehouses, including data modeling, architecture, and related infrastructure components
- 3+ years of ETL/ELT experience and building high-volume data pipelines
- 3+ years of experience with reporting and analytic tools
- 3+ years of experience with query optimization, data structures, transformations, metadata, dependency, and workload management
- 3+ years of experience with big data and cloud architectures
- 3+ years building modern data pipelines on a major cloud platform, with preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP); AWS or Azure are also acceptable
- 3+ years deploying and scaling applications in containerized environments (Kubernetes, AKS)
- 3+ years of real-time and streaming technology experience (Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, Kafka, Spark Streaming)
- 1+ year of gathering complex requirements and managing relationships with key stakeholders
- 1+ year of independently delivering on project commitments
- Bachelor's degree in a related field

Pay range
- Base salary range: $101,970.00 - $203,940.00 per year
- Actual offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors; eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to base pay
