Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer leading cross functional projects to ensure safety, design quality, cost targets, and on schedule delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead product development with the cross functional team to translate the product roadmap into new offerings, utilizing up to date materials, processes, and technology.
- Create and consolidate detailed specifications for new products.
- Partner with marketing to drive voice of customer initiatives and participate in VOC sessions.
- Define product requirements based on VOC findings, specifications, and regulatory considerations.
- Conduct product testing to verify conformance to specifications and design intent.
- Champion adherence to engineering processes and ISO standards across projects.
- Collaborate with operations and suppliers to reduce cost, improve quality, and optimize scheduling.
- Coordinate with service teams to resolve high priority product issues promptly.
- Travel to customer sites for on site diagnostics when needed.
- Support marketing efforts by representing the company at tradeshows, conferences, product launches, and training events.
- Align with the engineering product development vision, strategy, and plan.
- Support sustaining engineering to minimize product issues, warranty exposure, and rework.
- Deliver innovative designs that balance performance with cost effective manufacturability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement to achieve design excellence.
- Travel up to 20 percent, mainly domestic, during product introduction phases.
Requirements
- Knowledge of harness design, electrical schematics, and DC circuit analysis with troubleshooting for 12 and 24 VDC systems; familiarity with low to medium voltage AC distribution and controls.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (CodeSYS, IQAN).
- Strong computer skills including Excel and Word.
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, and AutoCAD.
- Background in engine diagnostics with general understanding of drivetrain, driveline, and diesel engines.
- Solid technical foundation in electrical engineering.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
- High accountability for project commitments and business objectives.
- Effective written and oral communication across all levels and with external representatives; strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain technical topics to diverse audiences.
- Track record of delivering on commitments on time and with quality.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, preferably JD Edwards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
- At least seven years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting focused on heavy equipment, engine powertrains, and driveline components, with a proven project execution record.
- Experience with mobile equipment in snow removal, construction, or agricultural sectors is preferred.
Location: Fond du Lac, WI (onsite)
Salary: USD 1 - 1 per hourly
