Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer role at ASRC Federal Mission Solutions supports the U.S. Navy’s Aegis Weapons System development and sustainment from Huntsville, AL. The position focuses on agile lifecycle work for tactical systems software maintenance and upgrade solutions.

Overview

In this onsite position, you will participate in a collaborative agile team delivering software maintenance and upgrade solutions for tactical systems. Work includes engaging in software development lifecycle activities and supporting process requirements and reviews as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team operating under an agile software development methodology, including development of software maintenance and upgrade solutions for tactical systems.
  • Participate in activities across the software development lifecycle and support all required process reviews and related requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent related work experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance.
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the required timeframe specified by applicable contracts.
  • 5–7 years of experience in software development, maintenance, or support in an Open/Layered Architecture Environment and operating environments, including experience with model-based tools, Information Assurance, tools development, safety analysis, real-time system data analysis, problem analysis, and system integration.
  • Experience developing software with Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience developing software with Agile scaled principles.
  • Experience with object-oriented design/development, including the use of design patterns to support software insulation techniques and plugins.
  • Experience working with Linux and UNIX environments.
  • Strong skills with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse.
  • Familiarity with UML syntax and its use.
  • Familiarity with driver-based and automated test environments.
