Software Engineer III

Software Engineer III at FirsTech is a full-stack role focused on building and extending customer solutions on top of a payment processing platform, with C#/.NET APIs, UI features, and platform ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver full-stack features end to end, including API and data model work through Angular/React UI consumption
• Convert customer and product management requirements into working solutions within existing frameworks, development practices, and architecture
• Serve as subject-matter expert and primary point of contact for assigned application platform(s), including customer interactions when needed
• Recommend and drive architectural improvements for new and existing applications
• Find opportunities to improve team process, tooling, and delivery practices and help implement changes
• Write maintainable, well-tested code using SOLID principles and strong object-oriented and domain design
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level engineers on both technical execution and engineering judgment
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, including sprint planning and estimation; act as technical lead for the scrum team depending on team needs
• Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of the technical concepts referenced in this role
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to handle deadlines and pressure situations effectively
• Ability to deliver high-quality multi-tier application solutions
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
• 4-6 years of professional software development experience, including full-stack development
• Hands-on experience building production UIs in Angular and/or React
• Solid experience with SQL Server for hosting and development/query work
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated application of SOLID design principles and strong coding craftsmanship
• Comfort serving as a customer-facing technical point of contact
• Experience leading scrum teams, mentoring engineers, acting as customer point of contact, and serving as technical subject-matter expert
• Experience in payments, fintech, or another compliance-heavy domain preferred
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design concepts preferred
• Experience working across distributed/global engineering teams preferred
• Experience with MongoDB preferred

Compensation and Benefits

• Base pay range: $106,000 - $150,000 per year
• Salary depends on job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends
