Structural Design Engineer (5+ Years Custom Residential Experience Required)

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for custom residential projects, including new homes, additions and remodels, as well as light industrial and commercial buildings, tenant improvements, retaining walls, and various landscape structures.
• Develop structural calculations, annotate plans and details, and prepare specifications and notes for construction documents ranging from moderate to complex, with minimal supervision from staff engineers.
• Coordinate from project start to finish with clients, architects/designers, contractors, and internal staff to ensure timely delivery.
• Perform site and field observations, manage printing/plotting tasks, and mentor or assist junior engineers as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
• EIT Certification
• CA Professional Engineer license preferred, but not required
• Five plus years of experience in custom residential structural design
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with IBC and CBC codes
• Projects primarily involve wood framed residential design with some light commercial work
• Self-motivated, detail oriented, highly analytical, capable of working independently while also being a strong team player with solid verbal and written communication

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
