Structural Engineer
Job Description
At MXL Engineering LLC, the Fort Lauderdale office is expanding its structural capabilities with a dedicated Structural Engineer. The role focuses on designing, analyzing, and supervising a range of structural systems, ensuring safety, stability, and sustainability, while collaborating closely with project managers, Architects, and construction teams to move projects from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive structural layouts and models with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and related software.
- Conduct structural analysis and system design using FEA software and Mathcad to assess load capacities and material behavior.
- Plan and track project schedules to ensure design phases and construction milestones are met on time.
- Perform geotechnical evaluations and incorporate GIS-based geospatial data to guide foundation and earthwork design.
- Produce detailed reports, specifications, and technical documentation that clearly convey design intent.
- Lead project management activities such as resource allocation, progress monitoring, and quality assurance during construction.
- Work with civil engineering teams to integrate systems, ensuring alignment with safety standards and building codes while supporting construction efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer license in Florida is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in structural design, analysis, and drafting with AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other CAD tools.
- Solid understanding of project management concepts, including scheduling and coordinating resources.
- Experience with FEA software, Mathcad, GIS tools, and geotechnical engineering principles.
- Experience designing systems for civil infrastructure projects like bridges, buildings, or transportation networks.
- Strong technical writing abilities for creating reports, specifications, and documentation.
- Proven ability to collaborate in teams while handling multiple projects concurrently.

Salary: USD 79,783.60 - 96,083.48 per year
