Structural Professional Engineer

Oak Point Associates is seeking a Licensed Structural Professional Engineer for a hybrid role based in Biddeford, ME (with consideration for Portsmouth, NH); the position offers a salary range of $110,000–$130,000 per year and requires PE licensure plus U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations for structural projects.
• Provide structural detailing and oversee the development of construction plans.
• Draft contract specifications.
• Develop cost estimates for projects.
• Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions.
• Carry out structural observations and inspections of ongoing construction work.
• Prepare engineering reports.
• Review and guide the work of junior engineers.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to align project efforts.

Requirements

• Structural engineering design experience for new and existing buildings and related structures, including structural steel, cold-formed steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and wood or timber; mass timber experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RISA, RISA FOUNDATION, RISA CONNECTION, ENERCALC or equivalent, and Excel.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.
• Bachelor of Science degree with at least 10 years of related work experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Maine and/or New Hampshire, or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
