Job Description

The Technical Support Engineer role supports Enterprise Technology/IT Operations for the Michigan Truck Plant, including IT Infrastructure and applications for the new Ford Bronco and Ford Ranger. The position focuses on troubleshooting, data analysis, and resolution activities for plant systems and integrations.

Location and Work Setup

Compensation

  • Salary range: USD 74,300 - 166,200 per year
  • Salary grades: Range of salary grades 6 - 8

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for a multi-shift manufacturing plant operation.
  • Work flexible hours with a rotating schedule to support business processes, including days, nights, and/or weekends.
  • Support plant business customers across the manufacturing site with IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, and end-user productivity tools.
  • Collaborate with Business IT and business owners to help prioritize improvement efforts.
  • Support Plant Floor Systems and PDO teams by resolving incidents, assisting escalations, and providing hands and feet support to additional global teams when needed (including DBA, Server Operations, Ops Control, and Network Operations).
  • Focus on application integration and long-term maintenance.
  • Assist the team lead with assignment management and workload coordination.
  • Develop, maintain, and share accurate support documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in relevant areas.
  • Experience with Office automation, Windows, PCs, and printers.
  • Experience with server administration, including Windows or Linux.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Windows Active Directory.
  • Experience with VM servers.
  • Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches, including basic troubleshooting and cable installation.
