Water Resources – Senior Civil Engineer
Job Description
LSCE, a California-based firm renowned for engineering, hydrogeologic, and groundwater services, seeks a Water Resources Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex projects from its Woodland office. The role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and business development, covering proposals, design, construction management, and permitting for municipal and agricultural water systems.
Location: Woodland, CA (onsite). Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 per year. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Experience: minimum 20 years in water resources and consulting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee water resources engineering projects and drive business development.
- Identify opportunities for growth including networking, grant funding, proposals, scopes of work, budgets, project management, and schedules.
- Prepare civil and mechanical designs for municipal drinking water infrastructure, agricultural water systems, and other water supply or injection systems.
- Design, calculate, and analyze hydraulic systems for well pumps, booster pumps, hydropneumatic tanks, storage reservoirs, groundwater/surface water treatment, and process controls.
- Manage construction activities, hold meetings with contractors and clients, oversee schedules and budgets, handle RFIs and submittals, and conduct inspections.
- Perform well rehabilitation, including evaluation of water well problems, efficiency assessments of wells and pumps, and a range of rehabilitation strategies for issues such as sand production, biofouling, and adverse water quality impacts.
- Provide project management and oversight, including technical reviews, mentoring staff, collaborating with other professionals, and managing scopes, budgets and schedules across multiple projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Professional Civil Engineering License in California.
- Minimum 20 years of professional engineering experience in water resources and consulting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical background in water resources, fluid and porous media mechanics, well design and rehabilitation, and consulting.
- Ability to manage staff, competing priorities, and project deadlines.
- Proven record of business development in both competitive and non-competitive settings.
- Highly motivated with strong critical thinking and management abilities.
