Civil Engineer (site and utility design)(site inspections)

Mathers Engineering Corporation offers an onsite Civil Engineer role in Stuart, Florida, focused on site and utility design, feasibility assessment, calculations, drawings, and site inspections. You will join a multidisciplinary team that coordinates permits and ensures regulatory compliance, all within a supportive work environment that provides health insurance and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts, supporting calculations, and technical reports for assigned projects.
• Execute the full suite of calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater facilities, water quality, domestic water distribution, and other underground utilities.
• Create and issue drawings, design documentation, and project reports for residential and commercial land development.
• Coordinate activities with other consultants and contractors to align project efforts.
• Engage with contractors, fabricators, owners, and internal clients to define requirements, establish schedules, and estimate costs before project execution.
• Lead coordination and design activities to secure local, state, and federal permits for land development and utility construction projects.
• Ensure plans comply with zoning rules and avoid conflicts with municipal regulations.
• Address field design and construction conflicts in real time and conduct on-site inspections as mandated by agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, with two to five years of office experience.
• EIT or PE licensure in Florida is optional.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Detail oriented with a collaborative, supportive work style.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and staff.
