Senior Analytics Engineer, People Data
Job Description
A senior Analytics Engineer on Anduril Industries’ People Data & Analytics team in Boston, MA, focused on building and maintaining data infrastructure, models, and pipelines to enable analytics-ready HR datasets and data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, integrate, and transform diverse people data from HRIS, ATS, LMS, and other HR systems into the data platform.
- Develop, maintain, and govern scalable data models, schemas, and ontologies for people analytics, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility for downstream consumption.
- Contribute to the strategic design, development, and evolution of the people data platform and tooling, advocating for engineering best practices, automation, and a scalable analytics ecosystem (SQLMesh, Iceberg, Flyte).
- Partner with People Analysts, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders to understand analytical needs and translate them into robust data solutions with well-structured, documented datasets.
- Implement and monitor data quality checks, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure reliability and integrity of people data across systems.
- Continuously monitor the performance of data pipelines and models, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and scalability of the data infrastructure.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for pipelines, models, and processes; champion data engineering best practices such as version control, testing, and CI/CD within the team.
- Implement and enforce strict data security measures and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (GDPR, CCPA) related to employee data privacy.
- Collaborate with enterprise analytics and data engineering teams to align on data architecture standards, integrate people data with other business domains, and contribute to the evolution of the data platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a similar role focused on building and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Expert-level SQL proficiency for complex data manipulation and querying, plus advanced Python for scripting, data processing, and automation.
- Extensive experience with cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Databricks/Delta Lake) and data lake technologies (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage).
- Deep understanding of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust analytical data models (dimensional modeling, Kimball methodology).
- Hands-on experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using modern orchestration tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow, Flyte, Dagster, or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Strong technical foundation in data engineering, including SQL, Python, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Compensation
Salary range: USD 166,000 – 220,000 per year.
