Team and mission
Anduril's Space team advances AI powered capabilities to enhance Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control for U.S. military and allied partners. We build fully integrated hardware and software systems, including Lattice for Space Missions and modular payloads, to address evolving threats in space and ensure Guardians maintain a decisive edge in this contested environment.
Responsibilities
- Join a growing group of Product Engineers delivering a new operational system for a DoD customer, contributing to future directions.
- Create and implement processes, workflow automations, and tooling to support end users of a globally distributed system from a secure Anduril facility.
- Serve as a systems administration expert, with a focus on Linux environments and configurations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure readiness of newly deployed locations or features and continuously monitor the existing capability baseline.
- Provide real time response, rapid resolution, and root cause analysis for complex issues across code and supporting infrastructure within an air‑gapped network.
- Improve operational capability and efficiency through proactive automation, system optimization, ongoing monitoring, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision, escalating when needed.
- Deliver 24x7 on‑call support as part of a larger team supporting Space Domain Awareness for the United States Space Force.
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible, and implement comprehensive observability (monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing) for Linux‑based distributed systems.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance (must be maintained).
- Experience with device configuration, basic troubleshooting, and incident triage.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Self‑starter with the ability to manage work in isolated secure environments.
- Experience with Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and similar tools.
- Ability to convey complex concepts clearly across different communication methods and tools.
- Interest in advancing US and allied military capabilities through advanced technology in space environments.
- Little to no travel required, with opportunities to travel to end‑user locations.
- Hands‑on experience with observability tools and practices: monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Linux system administration experience, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and managing distributed systems.
- Understanding of software development practices including version control (Git), code review, testing, and agile methodologies.
