Senior Avionics Engineer
Job Description
Canard Aerospace Corporation offers a collaborative, on-site engineering role in Shakopee, MN with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. The Senior Avionics Engineer will help integrate avionics systems for commercial and military aircraft, develop installation instructions and A-kits, and oversee electrical conformity to design specifications. Familiarity with Collins Flight2 and C-130 platforms is a plus. Salary ranges from USD 85,000 to 155,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Investigate and interpret job and technical requirements, including Interface Control Documents, mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Architect detailed system designs to integrate avionics from multiple vendors
- Conduct aircraft surveys and collect necessary data
- Design wiring and installation for LRUs (wire design LRU installation design)
- Create ICDs to define interfaces among affected avionics systems
- Draft Engineering Orders and installation instructions
- Prepare maintenance and operations manuals and supplements
- Review customer requirements and statements of work
- Develop avionics solutions aligned with customer needs and review feasibility
- Assist Sales and Business Development with proposals, including technical review of requirements and program risk and schedule
- Support certification of avionics systems to FAA, EASA or other civil authorities
- Assemble Installation Data Packages with system and electrical fabrication, assembly and installation drawings, master data lists, drawings and reports
Requirements
- Engineering degree or Technical College certificate
- 8+ years of avionics engineering experience with an air carrier, airline, or air freight operator, or 8+ years designing/engineering and installing avionics upgrades with an MRO or OEM
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- USA Passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
