Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer role on Walmart's Global Data Foundation team focuses on building and maintaining end-to-end data solutions that support critical business decisions and scalable product experiences. You will design data ingestion pipelines, transformation workflows, and consumption-layer data products, integrating diverse technologies to deliver cohesive, high-quality data assets.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend systems.
- Integrate and optimize data from multiple sources to ensure quality and reliability.
- Enhance data processing frameworks and associated tooling.
- Design, manage, and govern data schemas across their lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data-driven initiatives.
- Pursue continual improvements in software effectiveness and efficiency.
- Adhere to company policies, values, and ethical standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, with at least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Alternatively, 5 years of software engineering or related field experience.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science with 1 year of software engineering or related field experience.
- Additionally, 2 years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics, with exposure to ETL tools and large cloud-based datasets.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and applying accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.2 AA, with supporting technologies and practices.
