Software Engineer L2

Jovian Concepts is seeking a Software Engineer Level 2 to support the creation and ongoing improvement of a FORNSAT Dashboard prototype. This onsite role in Annapolis Junction, MD focuses on delivering capabilities across the full software engineering lifecycle, from analysis and design through development, testing, and integration.

The position requires a security clearance that is currently active, with additional testing requirements. The engineer will contribute using modern application and data technologies while also working in environments that span new development alongside legacy integration and operational support.

Responsibilities

• Create and enhance a cutting-edge FORNSAT Dashboard prototype.
• Participate in all aspects of the software engineering process, including analysis, design, development, test, and integration.

Requirements

• Current and active TS/SCI Clearance with MD Polygraph required.
• Fourteen (14) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience using tools and technologies such as ReactJs, NodeJs, Typescript, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB (or similar database technologies).

Desired Skills

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, deployment, and Gitlab pipelines is highly desirable.
• Strong capability working in Linux environments and within VMs and containers, along with developing and integrating RESTful services.
• Comfort working across scenarios that include new development, integration with legacy capabilities, and support for existing capabilities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
