Business development advanced engineer to support growth in the Hazardous Location and Industrial Internet of Things (IioT) markets across the Americas.
Location: Norwood, MA (onsite) • Salary: USD 106,000 - 152,000 per year • Education: Bachelor's degree • Experience: 4+ years
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify opportunities in targeted industries.
- Develop and execute annual business plans.
- Build and maintain working relationships with team members, customers, and member companies within the Americas.
- Overnight travel to customers, events and trade shows (Typically 25% or more).
- Support the development of technical knowledge and communication of market trends to internal and external audiences.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the targeted industries including regulation landscape, competitors’ intelligence, challenges and opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in engineering or business / marketing degree with relevant experience in an engineering / technical role.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in product certification, industrial automation, IioT, or engineering roles.
- Working knowledge of Hazardous Location standards such as FM, ATEX, IECEx, NEC/CEC, UL, or CSA.
- Experience with IIoT technologies, including industrial sensors, connected devices, communication protocols, and condition monitoring systems is beneficial.
- Strong ability to translate technical certification requirements into clear customer value propositions.
- Experience in business development, technical sales and/or marketing for industrial or regulated sectors.
- Knowledge of FM Approvals certification offerings and/or FM Loss Prevention Data Sheets is beneficial.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
