Help Desk Engineer
Job Description
The Help Desk Engineer role at Connecticut Computer Service, Inc. provides remote and on-site IT support, diagnosing Windows operating systems and user applications to keep client environments productive and secure.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve issues across Windows desktops and servers, hardware components, peripherals, and business applications.
- Install, configure, and support client workstations, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and core infrastructure components.
- Deliver consistent customer service by owning problems from initial contact through resolution, whether remotely or onsite.
- Maintain professional communication with clients to ensure they feel supported and confident in the solutions provided.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on IT or help desk experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities with effective prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication to clearly explain technical issues.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to build relationships and deliver high-quality support.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to evolving technologies and client needs.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to travel to client sites as needed.
- Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for client-facing roles.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and support.
- Proven experience supporting hardware including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
