Job Description

Graduate machine learning engineer on TikTok's Search team in Seattle, focusing on NLP, computer vision, and multi-modal modeling to enhance search relevance and personalization; 2026 start for BS/MS graduates.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to improving the search core algorithm with directions such as content understanding and matching using cutting-edge NLP and CV techniques to surface the most relevant videos for each query, continuously boosting search relevance.
  • Model user behavior to address the recommendation aspect of search, increasing personalization based on relevance and providing deeper user understanding.
  • Advance video understanding through NLP, CV, and related technologies to interpret video content and social context, strengthening the authority, credibility, and usefulness of search results.

Requirements

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in software development, computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong programming skills and solid fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: NLP, ranking, ads, search engine, recommender systems, distributed systems, and machine learning.
