Overview

We are seeking a Senior Certification Engineer to bring these innovations to life, delivering work with clear visibility and real impact on the pilots who rely on our systems every day.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end to end certification projects for avionics systems or subsystems from planning through final approvals
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities, designated engineering representatives (DERs), and auditors to obtain approvals and close compliance gaps
  • Direct certification strategies to meet FAA, EASA, and global airworthiness standards
  • Develop and maintain certification artifacts such as plans, test reports, information memorandums (IMs), PGAs, compliance matrices, and ICAs
  • Define the certification strategy and means of compliance
  • Partner with systems, software, and hardware engineers to ensure certification requirements are integrated throughout design and development
  • Coordinate conformity inspections, audits, and reviews with FAA, EASA, and DERs
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes and contribute to certification best practices
  • Stay current on evolving regulations and contribute to process improvements

What We’re Looking For

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Aerospace, or related Engineering
  • 5+ years of certification or systems engineering experience, or 3+ years with a Master’s degree
  • Proven experience managing FAA certification programs (TSO, STC, or TC)
  • Hands on knowledge of DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and ARP4761 compliance standards
  • Experience coordinating with regulatory authorities and DERs

Attributes

  • Detail oriented engineer who values clarity and takes ownership of complex certification efforts
  • Excellent communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead certification efforts with minimal supervision

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM field
  • Experience with EASA validation
  • Experience with multi-system integration projects
  • Pilot’s license, flight training, or strong knowledge of general aviation operations
  • Track record of process improvement in certification or compliance
