Job Description
Greensboro, NC (hybrid) role with Kaiser Permanente
Support resilient, secure, multi-channel software delivered across on/off-premise and cloud environments. This IT Applications Engineer IV UI-focused position combines end-to-end development with Agile/Waterfall and DevOps practices, with a strong emphasis on quality testing, technical documentation, and partnering across IT, business, and vendor teams.
What you’ll do
- Apply subject-matter expertise to complete work assignments and support business-specific projects, including helping develop work plans to meet priorities and deadlines.
- Translate business requirements and functional specifications into stable program designs, code modules, and software solutions by partnering with Business Analysts and team members.
- Design, develop, deliver, and support resilient, secure, high-volume, high-transaction application solutions using DevOps and both Agile and Waterfall practices.
- Provide recommendations for technical solutions that meet design and functional needs.
- Identify and implement required interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures, and functions to support technical solutions, incorporating architectural designs and aligning with standards.
- Lead incident support and troubleshooting for complex and non-complex issues, including implementation and post-implementation triage.
- Support component integration testing (CIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) by providing triage, attending test team meetings, keeping QC up to date, performing fixes and unit testing, and helping ensure appropriate depth of test coverage. Support development of proper documentation.
- Develop unit testing to identify application errors and ensure solutions meet functional specifications.
- Write and review technical specifications and documentation, including reviewing and making changes as needed.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with internal customers and third-party vendors to support stakeholder alignment and buy-in.
- Mentor, train, and lead other technical resources across the software development lifecycle phases by applying and sharing in-depth understanding of methodologies, policies, standards, and controls.
- Support accessibility, retrievability, and security for specific subsets of information by maintaining information handling procedures and applying formal data structures and protection measures.

Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (for example SDLC).
- Minimum one (1) year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field.
- Minimum six (6) years experience in software development or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Compensation
USD 114,900 per year
