Senior Bridge Project Engineer

Senior Bridge Project Engineer role in Houston, onsite, focused on leading design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans and specifications for complex bridge projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce and revise design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and project specifications for assigned projects.
• Collaborate with the project manager to conduct research, develop calculations, design and deliver results.
• Apply engineering methods, procedures and design criteria to complex cross-discipline projects.
• Utilize technical knowledge to address design issues, working closely with the project manager, engaging with clients, and completing tasks to meet the project schedule.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software.
• Mentor and review the work of junior engineers, providing constructive feedback.
• Contribute to successful project delivery across a diverse range of projects for HNTB clients.
• Apply senior-level technical expertise to evaluate a broad range of engineering solutions.
• Oversee discipline-specific planning, work distribution, leadership, and adherence to schedule and budget on complex or unusual projects.
• Support marketing efforts, including proposal development.
• Define scope of work and level of effort, and manage adherence to scope and budget within the discipline.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of project team's work within the technical discipline.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve project objectives on complex projects.
• Coordinate technical aspects with client counterparts and teaming partners at staff level for discipline-related work on complex projects.
• Lead discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects and collaborate closely with other disciplines.
• Assist with coordinating and planning schedules, hours, and work distribution for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience
