Technical Support Engineer (Branch Engineer)
Job Description
GadellNet is seeking an onsite Technical Support Engineer, also known as a Branch Engineer, to support a client in Indianapolis with hands-on IT issue resolution, coordination with dispatch, and participation in after-hours on-call rotations with occasional travel. The role is based onsite in Indianapolis, IN, and offers a salary range of USD 50,000–60,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the trusted onsite resource for remote teams to resolve technical issues.
- Act as the primary contact for assigned CSE clients with technical concerns.
- Repair, provide warranty services, and deploy workstations for clients.
- Diagnose and resolve network-related problems for clients.
- Identify opportunities for hardware and software upgrades and report them to account management.
- Create and maintain documentation for clients as needed.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
- During after-hours, install and configure server room hardware such as switches, firewalls, and UPS devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve remote tickets when on-site work is not available.
Requirements
- Occasional physical activity including twisting, reaching, and lifting over 50 lbs.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- After-hours work is required for critical outages, projects, and on-call rotation.
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and working with relevant systems.
- 2+ years of experience in network design, maintenance, and installation.
- Application support experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong rapport-building, listening, and questioning abilities.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to conduct research across a wide range of computing issues.
- Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly, business-friendly manner.
- Working knowledge of diagnostic utilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Driver’s License.
