Job Description

The Technical Support Engineer (Branch Engineer) delivers on-site IT support for GadellNet clients in Indianapolis, operating onsite with on-call rotations and travel as needed, and coordinating with dispatch and remote teams.

Summary

The Branch Engineer role focuses on hands-on support for client environments, serving as a credible on-site resource for remote teams and acting as the primary technical liaison for assigned CSE clients. Responsibilities include repairing and deploying workstations, diagnosing network issues, and identifying opportunities for hardware or software upgrades, all while maintaining relevant documentation and collaborating with account management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a credible on-site resource for remote teams to resolve issues
  • Act as the primary contact for CSE clients assigned to you for technical issues
  • Repair, manage warranty tasks, and deploy client workstations
  • Diagnose and resolve network related issues for clients
  • Identify potential opportunities for hardware or software upgrades or gaps and report to account management
  • Maintain and create client documentation when necessary
  • Participate in an On-Call rotation for after-hours support
  • After-hours duties may include installation and configuration of server room hardware such as switches, firewalls, and UPS devices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve remote tickets when on-site work is not available

Requirements

  • Occasional physical ability to twist, stretch, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • After-hours work is required for critical outages, projects, and on-call rotation
  • Desktops up to Windows 11
  • Servers up to Server 2022
  • Office 365 or Exchange Online 2019
  • Any brand of modern (2019) network equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting network cabling
  • Mounting network hardware into communication racks or mounting wireless access points
  • Maintenance of network infrastructure
  • Microsoft Teams conference rooms
  • Office Suite
  • Adobe
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly, business-friendly manner
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
