Leidos is seeking a mid-level SQL Engineer to contribute to an on-site analytics initiative in Aurora, Colorado. The role centers on crafting sophisticated SQL, shaping data for dashboards, and ensuring data quality for a high-visibility analytics application, with opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.

Location and compensation

  • Location: Aurora, CO (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 87,100 - 157,450 per year
  • Minimum experience: 2 years
  • Education: Master's degree

Key responsibilities

  • Develop advanced SQL queries featuring joins, aggregations, filtering, subqueries, and window functions to support dashboards
  • Shape query outputs for dashboard consumption with clear naming, logical grouping, and consistent formatting
  • Collaborate with dashboard developers to define and deliver the data required for visualizations and reporting
  • Validate data quality to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of dashboard datasets
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement basic optimizations to maintain responsive dashboards
  • Translate dashboard and reporting requirements into effective SQL queries

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with 4–8 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 2–6 years
  • US Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a polygraph
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write advanced queries (joins, aggregations, subqueries, window functions)
  • Experience with enterprise relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Background supporting analytics, dashboards, or reporting pipelines
  • Comfortable working in Linux-based environments
  • Proven ability to work independently on data-centric tasks and ensure data quality
  • Experience with Grafana, Tableau, or similar visualization tools
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in Agile environments
