Sr. Electrical Engineer

Leidos is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead on-site electrical facilities operations at our Springfield, Virginia campus. The role centers on directing maintenance, project delivery, and energy-efficiency initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance and cross-functional collaboration across on-site teams.

This on-site position is based in Springfield, VA, with a salary range of USD 107,900 to 195,050 per year.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day management and long-range planning for the site's electrical facility services.
• Leads engineering and central plant operations to optimize energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
• Provides diagnostic support for complex electrical systems and responds to emergency incidents.
• Communicates system status and functionality to the team and customers, highlighting potential complications.
• Implements technical guidance for internal teams and leadership on infrastructure-related decisions.
• Leads the electrical scope of construction and renovation projects from design through completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, budgets, and schedules.
• Develops and applies facility maintenance policies, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver efficient service.
• Provides engineering input on design submittals from an electrical perspective.

Requirements

• Requires TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• 8 to 12 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and testing complex electrical systems.
• Proven capability to lead electrical facilities operations.
• Deep understanding of high-availability, multi-building electrical facilities operations.
• Ability to resolve highly complex, multi-disciplinary technical problems across electrical systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and clients on technical strategy and results.
