Job Description

ASML is seeking an Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer to calibrate, assemble, install, relocate, and service ASML systems at customer sites. This onsite role in Chandler, AZ reports to the Senior Team Lead within Customer Solutions & Support and sits with a team of engineers responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining ASML equipment at customer locations.

Introduction to the Job

As our Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer, you will be part of a team of engineers who support the Customer Solutions & Support organization in installing, repairing and maintaining ASML systems at customer sites. You will help ensure chipmaking equipment operates as intended and contribute to the ongoing technology innovations that advance the semiconductor industry.

Role Within Office

  • Routine activities include sitting, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands for keyboarding, handling, and fine motor tasks; tasks may require stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, and stretching. Occasional movement around the campus may be necessary.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds.
  • Travel may be required depending on business needs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and qualify the machine on site following the procedure in a predefined sequence.
  • Build, install and align components to form a complete machine.
  • Install ASML equipment at customer locations, including devices with new features, pilot and proto systems.
  • Analyze applicability, accuracy, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Recommend design changes or substitution of materials when appropriate.
  • Evaluate and diagnose problems and implement appropriate repairs.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and customers to isolate and solve problems.
  • Answer customer questions and assist customers in a professional manner.
  • Provide support and assistance to less experienced ASML or local personnel as necessary, when appropriate.
  • Perform complex adjustments, execute upgrades, and diagnose and solve problems with limited support.
  • Prepare written technical reports if required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience.

  • This position requires access to controlled technology as defined in the Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology before beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
  • This is a safety-sensitive role requiring the ability to operate heavy and complex machinery and to work in a safe and alert manner.
  • A compressed work week may be required based on business needs.
  • Typically, the role involves 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth is necessary.
  • Position requires access to customer site locations and familiarity with customer rules and policies regarding worksite behavior and safety. Expect to spend more than 80% of time inside the clean room working with electromechanical equipment.
  • The role operates under the direction of a Manager, Supervisor, or Senior Engineer.
  • Travel up to 75% of the time may be required.
