Sr. Product Manager Technical, Traffic Engineering
Job Description
Senior Product Manager Technical responsible for shaping the customer experience strategy for gracefully degraded services under limited connectivity at Amazon, emphasizing traffic engineering, resilience, and cross-functional leadership.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the product vision for degraded customer experiences when connectivity is limited or unstable across the platform.
- Create frameworks for traffic categorization, prioritization, and intelligent routing to sustain a high-quality customer experience under constrained conditions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable solutions that preserve service quality during network constraints.
- Own end-to-end customer experience, balancing technical limitations with user satisfaction.
- Develop and implement smart fallback mechanisms that maintain core functionality within resource limits.
- Establish success metrics and monitoring plans to assess impact on customers during degraded states.
- Lead the technical roadmap for traffic management systems.
- Work with engineering teams on system design and performance optimization.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams and experience owners.
- Influence senior leadership on priorities for traffic management and customer experience.
- Translate complex technical concepts and trade-offs for executive audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience owning or driving roadmap strategy and definitions
- Experience delivering features and evaluating tradeoffs for a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions on technology decisions and product strategy
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience representing diverse customers and stakeholders during executive prioritization and planning
