Job Description
Responsibilities
- Incorporate edits and redlines to existing designs.
- Coordinate the intake of supplier drawings into the Sentinel program's set and workflow.
- Produce basic data and preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes to present design proposals; assess factors such as ease of manufacture, material and equipment availability, interchangeability, replaceability, strength‑to‑weight, contractual specs, and cost; and coordinate with other organizations affected by design development.
- Create layouts for complex assemblies and detail parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures; review completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions; identify design errors or omissions and propose revisions to responsible engineers or designers.
Requirements
- Engineer 2: Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience; or Master's with 0 years; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Principal: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; or Master's with 3 years; or PhD with 0 years; or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period.
- At least 1 year of experience generating 3‑D CAD models of electronic components and assemblies using Siemens NX.
- At least 1 year of experience generating and releasing engineering artifacts into Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Siemens TeamCenter.
- Familiarity with industry standards for mechanical modeling and engineering release such as ASME Y14.24.
- Experience interpreting supplier engineering drawings and specification sheets.
- Experience analyzing requirements and interface documentation.
