Job Description
Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Missile Defense Integration, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (GUI) to support the C2BMC Global program in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This on-site role focuses on developing and maintaining a large distributed Java system that enables critical missile-defense capabilities, and it requires a DoD Secret clearance to start.
Responsibilities
- Primarily contribute to Java software development efforts
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and stakeholders
- Work independently or within a small collaborative team
- Adapt to a fast-changing, dynamic environment
- Provide in-depth analysis and technical support for a large distributed Java system
- Tackle complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a sizable codebase
- Develop or modify functionality in accordance with specifications
- Assist with design, benchmarking, testing, debugging, and documentation
- Coordinate with other system support groups to resolve issues, establish standards, and improve overall system efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience; or 9 years of relevant experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
- Active DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, with potential eligibility for TS/SCI
- Experience in Java or C++ software development, software testing, or software integration
- Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and automated test tools
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change
- Regular interaction with internal and external customers, representing the organization in delivering solutions to complex technical issues

Salary
Primary level salary range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00 per year
