Principal/Sr. Principal Liaison MRB Engineer

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Liaison MRB Engineer to join our second-shift team at the onsite Melbourne, Florida facility. This role serves as a bridge between external suppliers and internal engineering and manufacturing groups, focusing on disposing discrepant material tags and designing repairs for composite parts to support critical aerospace programs.

Salary: USD 93,300 - 174,500 per year.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multiple suppliers and internal stakeholder groups, including Structural Analysis, Materials & Processing, and Manufacturing personnel, across design centers and build facilities.
• Process the disposition of discrepant material tags.
• Develop repair solutions for discrepant detail parts and assemblies fabricated from composite materials.
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration across teams to ensure alignment and quality.

Basic Qualifications

• Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related professional/military experience; or Master’s degree in STEM with 3+ years of related professional/military experience.
• Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of related professional/military experience; or Master’s degree in STEM with 6+ years of related professional/military experience.
• Hands-on experience in a composites manufacturing facility.
• Experience with military specs and standards.
• Experience with repair processes for composite materials used in aerospace structures.
• Willing and able to work 2nd Shift, Hours: 2:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. EST.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current active Secret clearance or higher.
• Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Current NGAS MRB buyoff authority (EN).
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
• Experience interfacing with a military customer.
