Principal/Sr Principal MRB Structural Engineer

Principal/Sr Principal MRB Structural Engineer role at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Iuka, MS, on a 4/10 second shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform and apply static strength hand calculations, Durability and Damage Tolerance (DaDT) analyses, and finite element modeling for discrepant metal and composite parts and assemblies.
• Develop and document detailed structural analyses to support aircraft repairs, including free-body diagrams, loading scenarios, shear and moment diagrams, and internal-stress calculations.
• Provide analyses in support of MRB and Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP).
• Background in aircraft structural design criteria and nonstandard repair and equivalent-strength analyses is a plus.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and less experienced personnel.
• Prioritize tasks and adjust workloads to achieve project outcomes.
• Manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
• Analyze complex problems and develop robust solutions.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and MRB EN/ST signatures is a plus.

Requirements

• Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with at least 5 years of aerospace structural analysis experience, or Master’s degree with at least 3 years in aerospace structural analysis.
• Sr Principal Engineer: Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of aerospace structural analysis experience, or Master’s degree with at least 6 years in aerospace structural analysis.
• Experience with MRB-related activities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
• Ability to work second shift and/or weekend shift.
