Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test activities for the Weapon System Integration effort. This onsite role focuses on guiding core system engineering work and cross-team integration in Roy, UT, with opportunities in Huntsville, AL. The position offers a salary range of USD 98,400 to 184,200 per year and requires active engagement in a high-scope defense program.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership grounded in integrity, respect, organizational discipline, and clear communication across teams.
• Develop key system engineering artifacts, including requirement specifications and interface definitions.
• Coordinate effectively between SEIT and other integration teams to ensure alignment and progress.
• Contribute to technical planning, verification and validation development, cost and risk considerations, and requirements analyses for integrated systems.

Requirements

• Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3): 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's in Engineering or a STEM field; 3 years with a Master's; 1 year with a PhD.
• Senior Principal Systems Engineer (Level 4): 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's in Engineering or a STEM field; 6 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD.
• U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance and an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• Ability to be screened for Enhanced Security Clearances within a timeframe determined by the company.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with ICBMs.
• Minimum 2 years of Systems Engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years of DOORS or related tool experience.
• Direct development experience of interface products (IRS, IDD, ICD) and requirement specifications.
• Experience creating and executing schedules and technical recovery plans.
• Experience collaborating across program organizations to identify solutions.
