Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Systems Safety Engineer to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This onsite role offers the chance to influence critical defense systems from hubs in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT. You will work across teams to advance system safety analyses, requirements development, and traceability while contributing to flight test readiness and flight worthiness of complex weapons systems. An active DoD Secret clearance is required to apply, and the role comes with a robust benefits package and competitive compensation.

Salary and Location

Salary: USD 98,400 - 184,200 per year. Salary bands for Sentinel Systems show two levels: Primary 98,400 - 147,600 and Secondary 122,800 - 184,200.

Location: Onsite in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts
  • Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to shape architecture content for large program designs
  • Develop and ensure appropriate system requirements are captured and represented in the model
  • Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis
  • Create unified modeling techniques, procedures, and processes for model development, tool integration, and team collaboration
  • Apply experience in generating or reviewing design artifacts to support system safety analyses that mature weapon system design for flight test readiness and flight worthiness

Requirements

  • US citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period
  • 1+ years of experience with C/C++, Java, object oriented design, or similar
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills preferred
