Job Description
Senior Principal Guidance, Navigation and Controls Engineer role at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL (onsite).
Responsibilities
- Lead the maturation of Guidance, Navigation, and Control system requirements within the GNC engineering scope.
- Oversee the integration of autopilot and auto throttle features into the Vehicle Management System.
- Direct subsystem level certification activities to validate readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related professional or military experience; or Master’s degree with 6 years; or Ph.D. with 4 years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable timeframe.
- Demonstrated experience with aircraft flight dynamics and/or flight control systems.
- Professional experience with aircraft guidance, navigation, and/or flight management systems.
- Experience in system engineering requirement definition, verification, and validation.
- Experience executing system test programs, including developing procedures and implementing test edits and test cases.
- Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink for data processing, analysis, visualization, and dynamic-system modeling.
- Experience using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
