Sr. Principal / Principal Systems Engineer
Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal or Principal Systems Engineer to contribute to the Sentinel program in Roy, Utah. The role emphasizes full lifecycle systems engineering, model-based systems engineering (MBSE) with Cameo, and close collaboration with Integrated Product Teams to mature a weapon system design for a large-scale program.

Responsibilities
- Contribute across the complete systems engineering life cycle, from use-case formulation through verification activities.
- Collaborate closely with Integrated Product Team (IPT) counterparts to produce rigorous engineering artifacts and design documentation.
- Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature a weapon system design for a large-scale program.
- Define, allocate, and trace requirements, ensuring accurate representation within the system model.
- Perform functional decomposition and define interfaces between system elements.
- Support verification activities across the program lifecycle.
- Create the system architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, modeling behavioral, structural, and analytical aspects.
- Contribute to ongoing requirements development, management, and analysis.
- Establish consistent modeling techniques, procedures, and processes to enable seamless model development, tool integration, and team collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.
- Principal level requires 5+ years of related experience, or 3+ years with a Master’s degree, or 1+ year with a PhD.
- Senior Principal level requires 8+ years of related experience, or 6+ years with a Master’s, or 4+ years with a PhD.
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Special Access Program (SAP) clearance with CJ1 access.
- 2+ years of experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or other complex aerospace/defense systems.
- 2+ years of experience in developing and executing Systems Engineering process governance documentation in a DoD Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase.
- 2+ years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining requirements specifications in DOORS.
- 2+ years of experience on large scale or complex system development across multiple phases: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell-off, and transition to production.
- 2+ years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining MBSE products.

- Primary level salary range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
- Secondary level salary range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
