Vehicle Management Systems Engineer (Level 2/3)
Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Level 2/3 Vehicle Management Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and verification of flight-critical Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) for aircraft. This on-site position is located in Melbourne, Florida.
Salary
Primary Level Salary Range: USD 79,300.00 to USD 118,900.00 per year. Secondary Level Salary Range: USD 98,400.00 to USD 147,600.00 per year.
Responsibilities
- Define design constraints and technology readiness for the system in alignment with customer specifications.
- Develop a thorough definition of external interfaces and articulate the implementation approach and operating concept for the VMS.
- Verify that requirements are satisfied and assess system performance in collaboration with the customer.
- Design flight critical control systems and the overall VMS architecture with optimized redundancy levels.
- Document and maintain VMS specifications, requirements, functional models, and testing activities.
- Lead anomaly investigations and drive timely resolutions.
- Support subsystems interfacing with the VMS, including requirements management, design, testing, and presenting updates to internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of related professional or military experience; or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related professional or military experience; or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years; or Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with 1 year.
- Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period.
- Professional experience in at least one of the following disciplines: subsystem integration and test, data bus architecture definition, system integrity analysis, or Vehicle Management Systems architecture development.
