Sr. Data Engineer, Cell Quality & Field Reliability
Job Description
This onsite role in Sparks, NV, within Tesla's Cell Quality & Field Reliability team, focuses on designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure, ETL pipelines, and automation tools to support cell testing, failure analysis, and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data infrastructure and ETL pipelines to process large-scale analytical data efficiently
- Develop and sustain internal data entry, analysis, and reporting applications with a strong emphasis on usability, performance, and adaptability
- Create data validation, auditing, and state-tracking systems to ensure accuracy and reliability in cell testing workflows
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, intelligent indexing, and automation utilities to boost testing throughput and ensure data accessibility
- Collaborate closely with technicians and engineers to translate complex testing requirements into scalable, user-friendly technical solutions and provide ongoing user support
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related STEM field, or equivalent experience
- Proven track record designing and building Python and SQL tools in large-scale production environments
- Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript for efficient, responsive front-end tooling
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
- Excellent organizational skills and outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, capable of bridging technical and non-technical audiences to resolve issues and improve user experience
- Ownership mindset with meticulous attention to detail and a genuine drive to deeply understand systems and processes

What to Expect
