Responsibilities

  • Lead the digital circuit card design lifecycle, including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, signal integrity evaluation, board stackup and routing guidance, layout coordination, test plan creation, root-cause analysis, and system integration. Designs may leverage FPGA, processors, DDR memory, and interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Conduct pre- and post-layout signal integrity and power integrity simulations using tools such as HyperLynx
  • Support hardware design and development of lab and production test solutions, including circuit card designs, test interface adapters, and cabling
  • Collaborate with software, systems, and mechanical engineering to deliver integrated solutions aligned with customer requirements
  • Prepare and present project and technical information to technical staff, program leadership, management, and customers, producing specifications, hardware design documents, and test plans
  • Test and troubleshoot electronic circuits, including supporting a design verification lab for circuit card assemblies
  • Perform trade studies to select components and participate in system architecture discussions as needed
  • Ensure designs comply with Design for Manufacturing, Design for Test, and Design for Assembly standards to control production costs

Requirements

  • A STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience
  • 5+ years in hardware engineering with solid fundamentals in electrical engineering, including component selection, digital circuit design, circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and lab-based validation
  • Experience contributing to circuit card development across the design lifecycle, including requirements review, schematic capture, layout support, prototype bring-up, and verification testing
  • Hands-on experience designing or supporting multilayer PCBs in a product development environment
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, or Altium Designer
  • Working knowledge of simulation tools (HyperLynx, ADS, SPICE or similar) to support design analysis and validation
  • Experience supporting board bring-up and debug activities, including root cause analysis and issue resolution under senior technical guidance
