The Sentinel program requires a Principal or Senior Principal Systems Test Engineer to lead air vehicle level integration, testing, and checkout activities, collaborating across hardware, software, and systems teams. This on-site role is based in Roy, Utah, with travel to test facilities as required.
Responsibilities
- Synthesize system and test requirements into verification criteria, test objectives, success criteria, and resource needs for system level tests and demonstrations.
- Support the development of test requirements, detailed integration test plans, test procedures, TRRs, test data, and test reports.
- Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment.
- Interface with software developers and systems engineers to support flight hardware integration and testing activities.
- Review test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Witness and verify testing as the Cognizant Engineer.
- Plan and execute Air Vehicle and integrated sub-system qualification and acceptance testing in preparation for developmental flight testing.
- Integrate hardware, software, and avionics from sub-system teams.
- Participate in internal and customer test planning working groups.
- Support program reviews and customer delivery (CDRL) development.
- Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, procedures, or test requirements.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, testing houses, development engineers, and other stakeholders involved in the testing process.
- Participate in technical exchange meetings with customers and contribute to a broad range of program deliverables.
- Execute tests and manage and prioritize problems and failures.
- Review and evaluate test results and prepare summary status reports.
- Work with cross-functional, multi-discipline teams at the element, system, and segment levels.
- Identify configurations to support test and prototyping of developing Air Vehicle systems.
- Perform data analysis of input, internal, and output message data.
- Document test results and prepare test status documentation.
- Create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issues and develop troubleshooting procedures.
- Interface with other internal engineering groups to improve processes and procedures.
- Maintain test equipment documentation and follow configuration management requirements.
- Participate in test facility stand-up activities, including operations and process development.
Requirements
Principal Systems Test Engineer: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Sr Principal Systems Test Engineer: Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience, or 6 years with a Master’s degree; 4 years with a PhD; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program SAP approval within a timeframe determined by the company.
- Working knowledge of system integration (hardware and software) and test principles.
- Experience developing and executing integrated hardware and software testing.
- Experience defining test objectives based on test requirements, VCRM, and interface and specification documentation.
- Experience with data collection and instrumentation (methods, setup, checkout, and troubleshooting).
- Experience in troubleshooting anomalous hardware and software.
- Experience with development of test plans, procedures, and reports (functional testing and checkout).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of employees and management.

Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance granted or reinvestigated within the last 6 years
- Experience with Electrical Ground Support Equipment EGSE or Automated Test Equipment development and execution
- Experience developing and integrating technologies into aerospace vehicle systems for defense applications
- Experience with aerodynamic performance of missiles and related materials
- Understanding of aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and control
- Flight Test Instrumentation design and development experience
- Experience in design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of test cables, test sets, and support equipment
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering including DoDAF and SysML
- Proficiency in DOORS and Cameo
- Experience with Atlassian tools Confluence and Jira
- Experience with integration and test of large-scale vehicles or weapon systems
- Experience as acting Test Conductor or Lead during test procedure execution
- Familiarity with ICBMs
Compensation
Salary: USD 89,400 - 167,500 per year.
