DevOps Engineer - Mid
Job Description
Based in Washington, DC, Amentum is seeking a mid-level DevOps Engineer to join an on-site team supporting secure cloud infrastructure and DevSecOps tooling for large-scale data analysis projects. The role requires an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and hands-on expertise across the full DevOps lifecycle to design, deploy, and operate robust systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, test, certify, operate, patch, and address interoperability issues across DevSecOps infrastructure tools, including all operating systems, support libraries, components, and application dependencies.
- Serve as the primary Operations and Maintenance workforce managing multiple tools.
- Deploy and configure services using an infrastructure as a service provider.
- Configure and administer Linux-based servers to host a dynamic website.
- Debug cluster-based computing architectures.
- Apply scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems.
- Install and manage open-source monitoring tools.
- Apply expertise on multiple complex tasks and assignments with some originality and innovation.
- Operate with substantial latitude in developing methodologies and presenting solutions.
- Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Requirements
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Integrate security practices, tools, and measures into the entire DevOps pipeline, including development, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Automate security testing, scanning, and compliance checks throughout the development lifecycle.
- Implement automated security controls such as static code analysis, dynamic application security testing (DAST), container scanning, and vulnerability assessment.
- Establish mechanisms for continuous monitoring of application and infrastructure security.
- Mid level experience with Python and other scripting languages with a focus on automating tasks.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field.
