Test & Evaluation Engineer

Location: Merrifield, VA onsite • Salary: USD 160,000 – 175,000 per year

Amentum invites qualified engineers to join onsite in Merrifield, VA as a Test & Evaluation Engineer supporting the GEODS program. This role offers a competitive annual salary and the opportunity to contribute to defense and government contracts through rigorous test planning, verification, and safety-focused evaluation. You will develop and execute test plans, validate systems against requirements, ensure safety criteria are met, and help advance safety culture and comprehensive T&E documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting test outcomes and system performance.
• Review system requirements, concepts of operations documents, acquisition plans, and system descriptions to craft evaluation and test plans and procedures.
• Plan and execute data collection activities, analyze findings, and communicate status and results to stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing visibility into project progress and any impediments that could impact schedules or outcomes.
• Assist in developing Government test and evaluation documentation, including the Test & Evaluation Strategy, Test Evaluation Master Plan, Event Plans, Test Readiness Assessments, and T&E Reports.
• Collaborate with other test organizations to integrate T&E activities across programs.
• Deliver specialized T&E capabilities tailored to each system’s function, level of maturity, and performance focus.
• Execute test plans and procedures, confirming results of automated tests and validating outcomes.
• Design and develop test automation scripts to streamline validation efforts.
