Job Description

The mid level structural analysis engineer contributes to Boeing's F/A-18 Structural Analysis team in Hazelwood, Missouri. The role centers on stress analyses, verification activities, and in-service support, with travel up to 10 percent as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed stress analyses of primary airframe structures using established analysis tools to evaluate loads and performance.
  • Verify structural integrity through analytical methods, finite element models and simulations to characterize and sustain component performance.
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and identifying improvements.
  • Assist with the development of test plans and support test execution to ensure systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Provide real-time support to ongoing supplier and customer activities.
  • Operate under general supervision.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering with emphasis in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Materials Science.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in structural analysis.
  • Knowledge of primary aircraft structure design principles, including fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, material properties, and repair techniques.
  • At least five years of experience with finite element modeling for structural analysis using tools such as MSC Nastran, PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Stress Check, Mechanica, and related software.
  • Demonstrated strong technical, analytical, and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10 percent of the time for domestic and international assignments.

Pay and Rewards

The total rewards package at Boeing includes a competitive base salary and opportunities for variable compensation. Eligible employees may participate in benefit programs such as health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement plans, life and disability coverage, and paid or unpaid time off. Program availability varies by location, hire date, and applicable agreements. Summary pay range: $103,700 - $140,300.

This position must comply with U.S. export control regulations. A U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required, including U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
