Responsibilities
- Lead project engineering for networked electronic control systems that stabilize ship motions.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to advance shipboard distributed embedded motion control systems.
- Identify feasible, customer-driven solutions and assess technical viability.
- Manage the full product development lifecycle from concept and requirements gathering to design, implementation, testing, debugging, production, and ongoing support.
- Design, debug, test, authorize, and produce specialβpurpose electronics used in active ship motion control systems.
- Champion product quality and oversee project timelines to ensure timely completion.
- Perform other design-related tasks as appropriate.
- Prepare drawings, technical reports, and documentation.
- Provide occasional field support to evaluate, test, calibrate, commission, and record data on systems installed aboard ships.
- Attend to additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- AS in Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics system integration.
- Experience in a hardware development environment.
- Strong foundation in distributed control system design and implementation.
- Proficiency with disciplined, modular analog and digital design techniques.
- Familiarity with environmental effects on circuit performance and mitigation techniques.
- Experience interfacing with sensors and performing signal conversions.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; U.S. citizen preferred.
